I understand a question like that can make some people uncomfortable, but I don't think it's that bad.
It's like this one time after an ok interview, this British guy asked me as the last question something like, "so when are you going back to your country?". I was like "WTF, seriously!? that question in a multicultural society? I've been in this country 2 decades, and you've been here 7 years. And you are not even from this continent! You just saw in my resume I'm not just hanging out here!"
