so i have a 2 hr video in premiere with an estimated exported file size of 5.2 gb.

premiere is on an SSD (my startup drive) with only 15 gb left (i know, it's not much).

i have my scratch disks in premiere all set to drives that are 1-2 tb.

whenever i try and export my video (VBR, 2-pass) i can only get to about 6% before it fills up my startup disk and freezes up my computer.

is there some way to get around this or will it always fill up my startup drive while exporting?

    • < premiere noobscarabin
    • i'm exporting the final file to a drive with over a tb of free space, btwscarabin
    • nm, solved my own problem. it was the media cache that was the culprit. moved it to another drive :)scarabin
    • ARG. nope, still doing it.scarabin
    • okay, changed GPU acceleration to software only in project settings and everything's perfect. (for anyone who runs into the same problem)scarabin
    • if you keep your OS, Project and cache on 3 separate SSDs that shit will flymoldero
