i have to say, that article is just terrible...

this sh*t will always be 3 steps back. all these fellas who want to control the cyberwebs approach these things like they are dealing with an attacker that even gives a hoot about intl borders. like it's always going to take on the same form and will be easily recognized.

but... to defend against a 'foreign' enemy... has a nice ring to it, no?

these initiatives will have little to do with effective personal data security and everything to do with the $, some nice new data for the server farms, and we outta here. and it will actually weaken data security, oops.

    There was a reddit:
    https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/co…

The biggest take away imo is this para...

"It would weaken digital security. Right now, it is very difficult to sue in a class action lawsuit if you are a victim in a data breach. If CISA were passed, it would also be difficult for the government fine or regulate companies who don't protect their networks. Without incentive to learn basic digital hygiene, companies will not improve digital security."

    It's a problem folks.
