    Serious question:
For those of you who have been in the position to review resumes and interview people, have you EVER checked their claims to the past work, companies, clients or their claims to education?

And another question, if you were in charge initially to weed out candidates in an initial round, did someone higher up the food chain come in and make the final decision based on your recommendations?

    • I only checked previous references once... and that when I was with a smaller company.Al_dizzle
    • usually the candidates are coming in from a recruiting agency, and we let them take care of the background checking.Al_dizzle
    • Same here, a lot of the people I interviewed came threw an agency or someone the company knew.sofakingback
    • Although, in the interview. I grilled the hell out of people. Why they did things, how they did them, troubles they had, how they solved it, etc.sofakingback
    • My hire recommendations ended up being strong additions to the team, the ones I said no to and got hired; 2 of which come to mind were the absolute worst.sofakingback
    • Never checked, always let the 'folio be the deciding factor and so far, so good... apart from one girl who turned out to be shit and a total PITA.MrT
