This is my first time selling a car, and I got this one guy who wants to buy it. I haven't met him, but my sister said he seemed like a nice guy. He said he can only meet in the evening, and that the cash is good. I said would rather meet at a bank, but he said he can't. He wants the car for his daughter, and that his wife is a house cleaner who collects cash.

I guess I should have a title to sign over, a bank lien release, and some of the paperwork I downloaded from the dmv. I also need to take out the plates. Any funny business I should look out for?

    • do you own it outright -- do you have financing or a lease?Gnash
    • I bought a car from a guy in NYC and the paperwork was fairly straightforward - but I trusted the guy.Gnash
    • I was most concerned about insurance. You want to make sure that you are not liable for anything once he picks up the car.Gnash
    • I have a lien release, car is paid offpinkfloyd
    • can you meet at the DMV - i'd be nervous about leaving with the cashGnash
