If you're smart, you tune out Trump at the first split second he starts talking about building a border fence.
There are so many clueless people out there who think that's a rational solution, or that it would be feasible to maintain 1,933 miles of a fence. I've done a lot of research on the existing fences, how often they're damaged and repaired, because it's an interesting topic. It's also proven to me that it would be an engineering hurdle of insane proportions to both build it and maintain it. It's impossible.
So you get Trump pandering to the low common denominator voters who are too stupid to know how long the border is, or what kind of effort it would take, and the cost. They hate Mexicans, and they want a big ol' fence or wall so nobody can walk across the border. That's what he and they define as border security, and "sealing the border."
And it makes Trump look like an absolute fool.
