    Yup what utopian said. Check Activity Monitor.

    I had this. Tried hacks and fixes found in forums, nothing worked. "kernel_task" was going absolutely bonkers - ended up needing to get the hardware fixed - think it had something to do with the sensors that detect heat being faulty.

    • I've had problems with kernel_task in in the past. Sure gets hot when those kernels start poppinghotroddy
    • I've had problems with kernel_task as well - CPU was running at 600%. Took some Terminal shenanigans to fix it.face_melter
