  Open up Activity Monitor (in the Utilities folder) to see if there is a specific application that is taking up too much processor.

  If everything checks out okay, and the problem persists, I would upgrade to the latest OS X.

  If that does not work, I would bring your Macbook to an Apple Store for some service.

  • I would do the Activity Monitor diagnosis first, this costs nothing. Then install Yosemite thats free as well.utopian
