  So really just good 2-color design examples? There are great books on the subject. If there are photos involved they may be mono or duotones which is probably why they are using that word. Shouldn't be too hard to find great solutions to this with a simple search. I also see good stuff in regular good design examples. Good luck. 2-color design is some of the best to work on in my experience. The limitation is very liberating.
