Xbox One will not be backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games... "The system is based on a different core architecture, so back-compat doesn't really work from that perspective," Marc Whitten, vice president of Microsoft Xbox Live - May 21, 2013
Coming up on two years of being outsold by the PS4 as well as their inability to migrate current x360 users into upgrading they announce backwards compatibility for a mere 100 games of which these are the current titles they are offering for Backwards Compatibility:
A Kingdom of Keflings
A World of Keflings
Alien Hominid
Banjo Kazooie
Banjo Tooie
BattleBlock Theater
Defense Grid
Geometry Wars Evolved
Hexic HD
Jetpac Refueled
Kameo
Mass Effect (No Mass Effect 2 or 3)
N+
Perfect Dark Zero
Super Meat Boy
Toy Soldiers
Toy Soldiers Cold War
Viva Pinata
Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise
ZumaWith the exception of Mass Effect not one of those games cracks any top 100 list of x360 games
Yeah Microsoft really rocked E3 this year!
- Isn;t this the same thing Sony did with PS3 and their PS2 compatibility in the early days?ETM
- The OG PS3 actually had the PS2 hardware chips inside allowing backwards compatibility as well as added cost which is why most 1st gen PS3's were sold at a lossjonny_quest_lives

- So did Sony later do a software only emulation before killing it altogether? I seem to recall a real limited list of games that worked.ETM
