The most successful PR-ists i've known constantly network, schmooze and generally whore themselves around the media. To them, lunching is a sport they are very good at.
It's a long to medium term game and generally can't provide a quick fix. This is essentially due to a PR-ists value being in the connections they have.
Most media has a 'forward features' list which is available for both journos and PR-ists to look at to see when features regarding certain subjects are going to be published.
If your product/service/news is relevant to any of these features you stand a much better chance of getting picked up. Journos are lazy, if you can do their jobs for them they will love you.

It's not what you know, it's who you know and stay relevant.

    • all ex girlfriends are whoresset
    • ...all whores are potential girlfriends.
      It's the circle of life.
