i went through a merkur safety razor phase myself but stopped because it took three times as long and no matter how much i wanted to believe otherwise, a mach 3 just does it better.
i did however keep the fancy sandalwood soap/badger hair brush practice though, and soaping up with a fresh hot lather remains one of my favorite rituals daily rituals.
if nothing else, ditch the canned shit. your face will thank you
