    I lived there for 8 years. It's the best. Really changing a lot these days. Gentrification like crazy. The Bywater is getting a grocery store on St. Roch after like decades of not having one-- could be a good place to look for properties if you're buying.

    A friend of mine got a house for really cheap in Gentilly, which is not a preferred neighborhood for practically anyone, but there are houses in every price range in the city of New Orleans.

    Don't get a place on the West Bank. It sucks. Has to be Orleans Parish.
