I think, thinking that the media in the US is freer than the media in Russia is quite a strech,
same with "the government" could never hide such a crime,
e.g:
you work for a big tv station,
you make 6 figures every year for just sitting on a chair and reading a teleprompter with a stoic poker face.
you get a message and you read it, that is your sole job,will you commit work suicide by thinking you can go against the flow?
so I ask you, do you believe the media as you call it, where in the cover up to make the american believe Irak had weapons of mass destructions? Do you trust the media who told you the government doesn't spy on you, that marijuana is a drug that cause (death, schizophrenia, promiscuity with P.o.C., gateway drug....), or the same media that told you GMOs are safe, etc, etc
