Set reasonable expectations and a path to get there. I disagree that things will just land in your lap, you have to constantly hunt for work. That's the dilemma with freelance/small businesses - you work your ass off to get the work, then work your ass to do the work, then lose marketing/potential while you completed the work...and it starts all over.
It really depends on your expectations and what you want. Don't think you'll make more money and have more free time, there are trade offs. There's a reason 99% of the population works for other people.
