Yesterday, BBC Radio 4. More stuff scientists haven't got a fucking clue about.

In our time: Melvyn Bragg and his guests discuss dark matter, the mysterious and invisible substance which is believed to make up most of the Universe. Today astronomers and particle physicists are still fascinated by the search for dark matter and the question of what it is.

    • No shit? We don't even know what is gravity is beyond modelling its effects.detritus
    • Trouble with people like you is you misconstrue science as being some god-like absolute that presupposes it has answers to everything.detritus
    • It's people who believe shit like that who fuck everything up for the rest of us, who are happy trying to wade through the gloom, knowing our ignorance.detritus
    • It's OK to say 'we don't know'. Scientists seem to have a BIG problem saying this. Which does point to some fundamental issues with science that need addressing.Morning_star
    • I said that <Morning_star
    • The Scientific community is based on being able to say they don't know. That's what DRIVES the whole thing. Figuring things out.monospaced
