been a while on qbn & on this thread. We moved to northern virginia in Nov; Applications mountains area; from Chicago to the country, so for the last 4 months i find myself drinking more and exploring the surroundings. northern virginia is very pretty but pretty strange; life is strange.
so to contribute. here's an article on 'google time' called a 'Leap Smear'. it's an attempt to unify time between servers globally (if you think about time zones and dropped frames/seconds you can kind of understand the problem..(for instance, israel recognizes two time zones in the same territory; meet me at what time?)) so in attempt to unify the 'global second' and address 'unix time', google had to define a leap smear. it's a good read for the curious and fantastic material for you nihilist.
