  first off, i haven't heard any crying or anything that resembles dramatic behavior from anyone. second, I'm not sure if you're being intentionally thick here, i mean it's quite simple - nobody is saying more design threads. we're saying less of the porn, nsfw, and the like. these types of threads can be found anywhere, but here it discourages potential newcomers from taking part in what could be more intellectually stimulating conversion or just broader topics beyond design, porn, and the typical garden variety nsfw content that litters this place daily.

  now, despite any inclinations you may have to take what I've said and take it to some extremist level I'm asking to try to see things from this perspective for just a minute, because we've certainly tried it your way the last 10 or so years.

  change is good and maybe that will bring some interesting people
  here who can bring fresh perspectives on *a lot more than just* design :)
