by Matthew Plummer-FernandezNovice Art Blogger is an automated art blog that takes images and meta-data of abstract art from the online archive of the Tate, and processes those images through online access to Deep Learning algorithms developed by computer scientists at the University of Toronto. The algorithms attempt to decode the art and identify its content, generating captions for the image. It also finds the image's 'Nearest Neighbour', an image in the database that is similar. My software then reformats those responses into blogposts.

Lovers by Bernard Meadows, 1980A bunch of wooden sticks are on a wall next to a table but also there are three very wooden pieces of pottery. Reminds me of some wooden objects and beads in a display case.
TUCKED IN AT THE CORNERS by Lawrence Weiner, 1988A person on a box with papers on it but also a smart phone with a paper box on it. I was once shown the word ā lies ā, grffitied over a newspaper box.
Riverfall by Richard Smith, 1969A person is sitting on a brick wall or then a black person sitting in front of a white wall. Reminds me of a person, panting on a wall outside.
