magazine style ecommerce?

    I think its a horrible idea to have all the bells and whistles of a magazine for an online shop. But for the same reason I hate putting magazines into that goddamn awful page flip type software. Its the fucking web people, its ok to have different experiences online and offline.

    However, if they want some like of online catalogue, I've seen decent ones on z-mags (look at the digital catalogs section). But these are really taking a magazine, adding a layer of interactivity and pushing it out as another publication, not a stand alone shopfront.

    I think your own best judgement and experience is important here, while the client might want a catalogue for a website, is it the best solution for customers or would they become easily frustrated and bored. If so, thats a lost sale.
