I'm no type layout expert, but how do you guys treat a word like "effort"? I like tight not touching, but it looks awkward if you put too much space between the two f's. Can those fs touch?
- it all depends on the font, some even have ff ligaturesmonospaced
- http://dab1nmslvvntp…monospaced
- Some people said turn it upside down to easier see the spaces.pango
- fill the spaces with equal amounts of "sand"fourth
- And ya what mono said.
Use ff ligaturespango - How do I know if my font has ligatures? I'm required to use Univers as part of a brand guidelinestoplying
- OpenType is where you'd find it, turn on the ligatures and type ff with no kerning or tracking to checkmonospaced
- Do you have font manager or InDesign?pango
- No this is in After Effects and it doesn't look like there's open type option for it. I'm manually kerning by lookstoplying
- oh, After Effects SUCKS SHIT for typemonospaced
- Ha...well it's better than my text generator for FCPX. Sorry but is OpenType a stand alone app? Or a part of the Adobe character palette?
stoplying - OpenType is a set of features for the font format, allowing for special characters like ligatures and other attributesmonospaced
- You can find its own palette in Illustrator, and in the drop-down on the Character palette in InDesign and Photoshopmonospaced
- Ok thanks man. So that being said, and working in AfterEffects, would you all let the f's touch?stoplying
