I dont think its that big a of a deal that Steve was way off about where these smartphones were heading or what people wanted.

He was able to nail some things like ipod and digital music because it was clear it was already heading in that direction. They actually came late to the game with that, so he was about to take it and make it easier for people.

With the iphone they werent late, so he guessed wrong about the smaller screen. He was more concerned with being able to hold the phone in one hand and use it, but turns out thats not really the most important thing to people, its having more space to deal with these apps. That part he missed on the Samsung figured out earlier. Still not a big deal though, Apple is making money hand over fist every quarter. Billions.

    • When the iPhone first came out, apps weren't that intensive yet or required a bigger screen.iCanHazQBN
    • The same goes for watching movies online or on your phone. It just wasn't as accessible back then to watch a movie on your iPhone.iCanHazQBN
    • movie on your iPhone. Especially when there was nothing in place to convert Flash to a playable format.iCanHazQBN
    • when it came out, the iphone had the biggest screen of any phone, no?monospaced
