    I have an iMac, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 soundcard and KRK Rokit 5 speakers. I am getting a persistent low crackling and humming sound from monitors when using the iMac (particuarly when scrolling using the mouse!) with no sound on (and when sound on but not as noticeable obviously). Its driving me mad. I have changed configs of powerpoints etc but problem persists. Anyone got any ideas to solve it? Thanks.

    • get this on my macbook when using external monitor/ internal soundcard...kingsteven
    • shouldn't happen with balanced cables etc... you could try using a UK->EU travel adapter forced back in to a UK plug on your monitors...kingsteven

    • will isolate the amp from ground... you should really be lifting the ground from the signal though.kingsteven
    • you could also use a separate four-way with the ground pin disconnected...kingsteven
