Sorry to spoil your 'someone-is-out-to-murder-girls' fantasy, but...
An elderly, church-going woman in San Clemente, Calif., inadvertently spooked an entire town — and much of the internet — this week by anonymously leaving porcelain dolls on the front porches of several homes with young girls in them.
The dolls were left as a "gesture of good will" by a woman who went to church with many of the up to eight families whose homes she visited, according to the Orange County Sheriff's department, but the fact that she did it silently and without leaving any sort of message had many around the city on edge.
