I must say that my actions depend a lot on the venue. If I go to the symphony, you can bet I'm not taking my phone out and certainly not talking. Doesn't have to be an orchestra, though. If I saw Jack White or someone like that performing at a nice theatre, where attention is expected, then I would adhere to the customary behaviour of the venue. And if it's at a giant rock venue? Then whatever. It's a rock show. It's supposed to be a bit of a party.
