    There is so much waste in my area that I can't help it.

    Most of the furniture in my house has been found on the street or through freecycle.

    There was a furniture tradeshow recently at the ExCel Centre in London (near where I live) and Habitat and IKEA left their display models for disposal. Got a new TV Stand (IKEA), Desk (IKEA), coffee table (Habitat) and another coffee table that was not marked with branding. using the desk and TV stand and deciding whether I want to keep the coffee tables (I have 2 really awesome from-the-street ones already).

    I disassembled my old desk and bagged up the screws. It was gone in an hour after leaving it outside.
