i will say one thing, even with them cracking down on piracy and preaching about how it causes the price of software to increase (the ole 'stealing hurts everyone' line), the price of software will never go down. they charge as much as they do because they know some people will pay. this is just a way to get more money out of the ones that don't.
i've been developing software for a few years now and i don't care how good your product is, if you overcharge, people will steal your product. (and yes, i know some will do it even if it's priced fairly)
