urgh.. about 2 months ago some guy threatened to beat me up on facebook after one of my threads he was commenting on got out of hand. Contrary to what you might think, I didnt wind him up, he just kind of was having a bad day and I was in the path of his chaos.
anyway, the threats were pretty specific and it freaked me out..
after speaking with my wife, we called the Police who recommended that we file a report, just incase this online threat becomes actual violence.we did.. then about 8 hours later at 4am in the morning, I get an email from him all apologetic saying he was just having a bad day and it wasnt personal.. (although reading the comments, it was clearly personal). Not wanting to cause further chaos, I accept his apology and politely decline his re-friend request. (we were really only acquaintances)
fast forward 2 months and I now have the police harassing me because they want to follow it up, and I explained to them he apologised and I have accepted. They are telling me a lot of costs have been involved in making the report as they needed to get it officially translated blah blah and as a result I cant just withdraw it.
And if I do, the cops will try and take it to court themselves without me and if i do nothing, i could be charged with interfering with a case.its so fucked.
Its not like I filed a false report.. the guy threatened me with quiet specific abuse.. following the advice from the police I made a report, and now, even tho everything is ok (except for a few more grey hairs from stress caused by his outburst), it looks like he is going to get shit for it..
- no to mention my fear of his threats were based on knowing that he is a bit of a loose cannonautoflavour
