I found it a little odd last night when during a Russian luge guy's run (I think he was retiring) there were fireworks the entire time, obviously well timed to start as he began his run. I'd imagine there are rules against a host country doing things like that? Obviously no other participating country is going to be able to coordinate a fireworks extravaganza for one of their own athletes.
