Into the bargain, my brother and his girlfriend had a baby, yesterday, (born in the same ward I was born in, at exactly the same time I was born [40 years ago, more, or less!]) and they had been deliriously worried about the child being born 'okay', for numerous (mostly premature) reasons, for the past two months, and he was born perfect! No incubation or anything necessary, all tests good, and he smiled at me tonight (I know it's not a real smile, but it was exhilarating). Anyway, that has added to my happy 40, no end. And I have clearly had a lot of brandies now at this stage so I'll shut up ... but, hey, :)
