Update on the noisy PS4:
Playing a session on Killzone today, on single player for just over an hour with the usual audible fan whirring away. All of a sudden I hear some sort of spin-down noise, and voila, console is quiet. Not heard a peep out of the fan since.
Now it's still running thankfully, as warm air is blowing out of the back, but the noise has diminished. Very weird! Wonder if it was the thermal paste on the processor bedding in or something, anyhowz happy days!!
