but seriously, buy the "lonely planet mexico" book
it will give you tips on shit like average cab fares to/from places (avoid getting ripped off), places to eat, tours and activities in your area, things like that. the book has a lot of safety tips on certain areas too. but if your in a tourist town/city you dont need to worry about that too muchonce you get off the plane some get overwhelmed by dudes trying to sell you pretty much anything, goods, tours, anything, that book will help, just read the section of the area your going to on your flight and once you land you'll be golden being able to focus on what you guys want to accomplish on your honeymoon more smoothly.
my tip, always carry $200 pesos (around $17bux) as pay off money for the coppers. most of the time $50 pesos (around 4 bux) is sufficient, but a nice $200 ends whatever you might have gotten yourself into in a snap, yeah even DUI's.
once had group of buddies, these musician kids I make music videos for, drunk as shit while reckless driving, cop pulled them over, a bunch of empty 40oz bottles literally fell out of the car and onto the cops foot, I was in the back seat thinking, "their fucked" but dude handed the copper $50 pesos and the copper let them go after evaluating their financial situation upon first impression, mexican musicians, old beat to hell VW bug. people like us though (gringos in a decent vehicle) $200 can get you out of just about anything and quick
