As someone who had to deal with hiring crowdsourced people (not my choice) and hiring not-crowd-sourced people (my choice) on a number of projects (super low budget and med-budget level) i can honestly say that it really doesn't matter if you pay $50 or $1500. In both instances you will get crap 99% of the time. Hiring creative people is super hard whether you pay or offer Taco Bell in return.
