He's a good speaker, but you have to question whether the designers at Facebook or any company really have control over policies that are almost certainly the result of high level business decisions. Maybe the VP for User Experience or something can be blamed, but lower level implementers are no more culpable than the person who develops the site or even the end user who decides to use the site.
Also it feels great to hear this kind of "designers can make a better world" message, conscious consumerism etc. But there's a good argument to made that all it does is entrench the current system, like this video talks about.
