Does brand love override great user experience?

Of course it does, it always did. Marketing 101 tells you that an emotional connection is the strongest link between a brand and it's user.

That being said, you are confusing nice looking design with user experience. I've used the windows phone, and I loved the look of it. Way better than the iphone for sure.

To me, user experience, goes beyond the look and it also includes functionality and reliability. Which (completely subjective option here) I don't think you can get from a windows machine.

However, I'm completely comfortable saying that I'm brainwashed by apple, not because I'm an apple fanboy, but because I just had frustrating experiences with Windows / Microsoft products over the years.

Is Apple the best option out there? probably not. But I rather try something I haven't used before before I give Microsoft another chance.

    • He's talking about feedback and notifications... it's not only the visual design he's raising issues with.zarkonite
    • No, I'm not confusing visual with UX...I'm talking about the user interface and interaction. I'm a UX Designer, by the way.monkeyshine
    • ...and you lost a little credibility when you said you'd try anything other than MS. :)monkeyshine
