I'm pretty sure it's been established that modern spirits are more technologically advanced than the spirits of the past. Talking through a Ouija board must've made sense before electronics, but nowadays it's a seriously inefficient way of communicating compared to coming through televisions set to snow and killing through telephones.
So, if you really want to talk to the dead, your best bet is not with a priest or other archaic methods like a Ouija board, but with more up-to-date technologies instead.
