Unless this Gaikai remote rendering thing is focused on either slow games or somehow magically rendering just the periphery of vision (something Valve have been talking about in relation to VR headsets) it just won't be that much of a sell.
Frankly, it really isn't a replacement for additional GPUage in and of itself.
Latency IS an issue for a lot of the sort of games people buy brand-spanking new consoles for.
Frankly, it strikes me that they're running out of ideas, so feel the need to gimmickify things.
I hope to be proven wrong.
