mind you, i get nothing but a constant dismissive tone from all of my wifes family, who are German, about me not eating meat.

at first it was a novelty, then after a few years, it became a hassle for them to have to "deal" with my needs at meal time, even though i constantly insisted i would rather cook for myself..

but then that was an issue as they wouldnt let me near the kitchen until they had finished cooking, then it was an issue that we all didnt eat together because I had decided to be the odd one out.

now we have a kid, every time we are there, they are constantly badgering my wife about why our son should miss out eating meat blah blah blah.

and to be honest, when he is old enough to cook for himself, or at least understand a menu well enough to pick something, he can eat what he wants.. but i am not going to cook 2 seperate meals just so he can eat meat, while my wife and I dont.

I am not forcing vegetarianism on him.. when he is old enough, i will explain it all.. and if he wants to eat meat, then he can.. but i am not going to cook or buy it for him.. why would i, i am a vegetarian..

but if he goes to a friends house and they have it.. and he wants to eat it.. then i have no problem with it. but i want him to be old enough to understand where the meat comes from..

and not that its just some magical substance that you find at a supermarket
