"Anyone else think dribbble has become a community of content that self-replicates "
Definitely, never thought much to it anyway but the place is a bit of a joke now. It's as if the place is visited entirely by designers who never look for inspiration outside of their own clique,
e.g, this image went viral a while back
Suddenly every logo on Dribble has to be covered with circles to show the 2DEEP4U patterns behind it, even if there isn't any pattern.
Someone writes a blog post on "Flat Design" (Fucking LOL) suddenly everything looks like Clear and Svvply had a baby
Even funnier it's as if it never occurred to them that you could build an interface without rounded corners or gradients till someone had to write a blog post about it for them. Can't help but feel this is the product of people learning a craft just through tutorials and never figuring things out themselves or being taught properly.
