as designers, we sometimes turn a cheek to become ignorant to truths and realities because our design religion implies a need for purity and cleanliness. and we laugh at others who hold opposite values. you might want to ask yourself, what you base your ideas on. most likely, years and years of design experience that makes your design bible iron clad. but like the bible, it's built on the ideals of people, rather than the word of science. in which case you simply need to prove your theory. when you do that you or your boss may find new truths because the ones you hold may have changed or become invalid.
