  The brand is so powerful people with money to burn will continue to pay over the odds for poor (sometimes) products. I have family members who do it all the time. iCloud is awful, iTunes is awful, iPhoto etc. are awful. But because they appear to be so easy people love it (until something goes wrong and you are fucked).
  I have used Apple products for 20 years and still love a lot of what they do but healthy competition is a great thing for everyone.
