there are 3 significant cultures in LA .. Beach, Latino and Hollywood culture.
yes, venice is cool on a weekend and santa monica area. bergamont station in santa monica is cool (art gallerys, etc)
-definitely don't miss the getty museum
-the griffith observatory show is great, the view of LA is fantastic, especially at night.
-the lacma

-if you can, a show at the hollywood bowl, phenomenal.
-the classic hollywood double decker bus ride. you can catch one on hollywood blvd by the manns chinese theater. (where you see the cement prints of movie stars and stuff. stars on street etc.
-Sunset strip, Melrose Avenue and Hollywood Blvd all run parallel to each other.
-olvera street and china town.
- you MUST try Roscoe's chicken and waffles. the best!!!
-the eco in eco park. great music club.
-amoeba records on sunset and cahuengaif i think of anything else i'll post. ;)
