    And assigning a "value" to a metal isn't creating value from nothing then? And while "over-printing" of money might indeed be an issue - one that can be controlled by the way - the problems with using a store of a particular metal which is limited in nature and can be hoarded and controlled - you seem to think the problems with that as a currency base either don't happen or simply can't happen because gold is you know made of austrian unicorn fairy rainbows.
