    There was nothing realistic or believable about how they went about their mission.

    Their first mistake was taking their ONE AND ONLY SHIP and landing it on a completely unknown planet. Aliens did it right with the Sulaco and drop ships. Then they should have used satellites and drones to map the planet's surface, not FLY AROUND UNTIL THEY SEE SOMETHING. It should have been weeks before a manned excursion to the surface, not hours. Oh, and they probably would have brought backup personnel and BRIEFED everyone before they went into stasis.
