    I liked it. A lot. Here's why:

    I feel like it was better than 95% of the other drivel coming out that calls itself scifi-action. It had a lot to live up to (arguably, it was going to be panned from the beginning, since it could NEVER best the nostalgic feeling we have for the Alien franchise.) Its like a great band from your childhood releasing a new album - except they're now 60 and trying to hold onto that edge they had when they made their seminal album in their early 20's.

    plot-holes, mediocre acting, recycled archetypes.
    Meh - it was beautifully shot and a visual step forward for most movies that have come out over the past few years.
