    UKV, that knob babbling in the link you gave is clueless about cycling.

    He says that after the drug-riddled 1998 Tour, Lance in the 1999 Tour set the fastest time for the Tour de France.

    The Tour is not the same route every year. There a huge amount of variables that play into the speed of a race, especially one that lasts for 3 weeks and is 1000's of KMs long... like wind speed, elevation gains and descents. The hours minutes and seconds of a Tour de France mean absolutely nothing. One can beat the previous year's winner's time by 5 hours, yet it says nothing about if that winner was better or worse than the other winner.

    99% of commentary related to this story come from people completely ignorant about cycling and it's inner workings.
