I'm from a mining town in Poland where in the 1980s a few people got killed during strikes by the police. (i was just a kid and my mother made me pray at the birch cross the strikers raised at the places where the miners got killed - just to say "fuck you" to the system). The few deaths that helped ignited the Solidarity movement to topple the corrupt system. Back then it was communism. How the same is not happening now - i have no idea.

    • same not happening in poland or SA?ebertzjaw
    • Same as in "toppling the regime that's corrupt"pr2
    • well, for starters, south africa is not a 1980s communist east block country...sine
    • these miners are employed by private companies. they don't work for the state...sine
    • this has nothing to do with politicssine
    • "this has nothing to do with politics" - are you naive?pr2
