It is illogical to use humans as a host since they occupy more space and pose more of a threat to the host-environment. They are better off extinguishing the primary parasite threat then use say..squirrels, deer medium to large animals to host the eggs.
If an Alien was smart they would eradicate the humans to save the environment they are depleting and use other species.
