Animoog is awesome. Thousands of pounds worth of kit in an app for a fraction of the cost.
NanoStudio is awesome (iphone/ipad) and is built by one guy!
Compare this to Maschine's offering, a crap 4 track sequencer built by a team of devs. shocking!Propellerheads Figure is a good fun app.
Rebirth is always fun. 2x303's, an 808 and a 909.
Loop Twister is fun for making glitched sounds.
Djay is a good DJ app.
If you use Ableton and want some good midi controllers then
- Kapture Pad by Liine for capturing presets in the moment - great for live performance
- Lemur (nuff said!)
- Griid Pro by Liine for clip launching and jamming
- Midi Touch / TouchOSC for creating your own bespoke touchscreen controller surfacesBeatMaker is OK but I never really got into it as I do most stuff on computer, although I can see everything moving to ipads etc when they are powerful enough to support full DAWs with VST's.
