And, the one that I'm hoping to do at my office is this:

We have three microwaves together on one side of the kitchen. It's a frequent "pass through" area to the rest of our lounge - the aisle is probably 4 - 5 feet wide. A sink and low counter are on the side opposite the microwaves.

I've thought about taping down very official looking tape on the ground, forming a rectangle from the microwave counter area extending to within one foot of the counter with the sinks. I'd also put up a super official looking laminated "warning" sign stating that when microwaves are in operation, everyone is to stand behind that line at all times (and include some nonsense about microwave radiation) and state that it's for people's safety, etc.

This would allow for only a foot of space that could be walked through; everyone would have to wait until people moved, and they'd have to shimmy through when the space was open.

It'd make it really tense in there and no doubt strike up a big debate about whether microwaves are really dangerous or not.

    • Put a fake hand in the microwave. NO ONE will be walking by there again.MSTRPLN
